Mt. Brave Mt. Veeder (Napa Valley) Malbec 2014

Standard

This is a first for Tiger Wines, a new addition from the Jackson Family range of high-end wines.

Just 600 cases were made and just 2 of those cases were allocated for Singapore.

With a retail price of US$80 at winery, the price here of S$110 is within a dollar or two of a direct exchange rate conversion. You can’t buy better than that.

Cheers!

Lokoya Mt Veeder Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Standard

Yes, this is the most expensive wine in my portfolio and no, I don’t expect that all of my customers will be chafing at the bit to get it…but maybe you know someone who might be interested. It’s not a change of direction for Tiger Wines, but when I was offered the opportunity to get 12 bottles, through my Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyards connection with Jackson Family Wines, I jumped at it.

Here’s a few things to consider:

It’s Robert Parker 99 points.

It was on very tight allocation in the US, i.e. one needed to apply to buy it retail. No point in applying now as allocations have closed. Singapore was allocated just 12 bottles. There’s 4 left.

It’s US$375 retail there.

It comes direct to Tiger Wines from Jackson Family Wines (JFW) rather than through a parallel import.

A lesser-rated vintage is currently on sale in Singapore for S$710.

I have 4 bottles left in stock in Singapore at S$585 ea. including GST.

Cheers

Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard “The Peake” Cabernet Shiraz 2015

Standard

Under the ownership of Jackson Family Wines, the Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard wines from McLaren Vale are going from strength to strength.

“The Peake” Cabernet Shiraz is their showcase wine, and with 97 from robertparker.com, 97 from Huon Hooke, 97 from Halliday and 96 from Gary Walsh of The Wine Front, Chris Carpenter (of Lokoya fame) is definitely kicking goals.

Just 370 cases were made with much of it going to the US. As Jackson Family’s exclusive distributor for this label in Singapore, I brought up 3 cases (36 bottles) and after the angel’s share finds its way to the Boxall cellar, there’s now 32 bottles left (oops, make that JUST 10 LEFT as of this afternoon!).

RRP in Australia is A$175, and US$150 in the US. It’s a relative bargain here in Singapore at S$159. In years to come, you’ll kick yourself for not picking up some of this label now.

Have a squiz at the attached promo for ratings by Huon Hooke, Halliday and Gary Walsh.

Enjoy!
