Zena Crown “Conifer” Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2014

Standard

I promo’d this wine back in late 2017 (@ S$108) and it sold out. I got some more earlier this year in my Jackson Family Wines allocation so here it is again but this time with a couple of new ratings  from James Suckling and Wine Spectator.

It’s also been repriced slightly, down to S$103 which according to my exchange rate calculations makes it exactly the same price that it was released in the US, i.e. US$75.

I’ve often heard people say that US wines are so expensive in Singapore. I can’t do much about the retail price over there, but I can make sure that by the time they get here (at least for the one’s I represent), the price remains fair.

Cheers

Penner-Ash “Estate” Willamette Valley (Oregon) Pinot Noir 2015

Standard

I brought in a range of Oregon pinots in the second half of last year and they proved very popular. The Zena Crown Conifer sold out and the Slope, Sum and Penner-Ash Shea Vineyard were well received too.

I held off promoting the Penner-Ash “Estate” Pinot Noir as it didn’t have a rating at the same time as the others.

It does now, with 92 points from Wine Spectator (sorry, I don’t subscribe to their digital version so haven’t seen the actual words), 90 points from Decanter and 90 from James Suckling.

International ratings tend to be, shall we say, “less exuberant” than some of the Australian ones. Maybe that’s a good thing but they’re generally less entertaining too.

This wine sells for US$65 at cellar door (ie. S$85).

Enjoy!
